This duo simply belongs together. With the Anytour E+ and Anytour X E+, Giant has been adding depth to its range of city ebikes and trekking ebikes for several years now. The manufacturer has now significantly redesigned both models for the 2026 season. Here’s a quick overview of what’s changed.
1. New frame for the 2026 season
2. Giant Anytour E+ and Giant Anytour X E+ still with different profiles
3. New ebike system biggest difference to predecessors
4. Giant Anytour E+ and Giant Anytour X E+ model series with wide selection
1. New frame for the 2026 season
Those who are already familiar with the Giant Anytour E+ and Giant Anytour X E+ will perhaps notice the newly designed frames when looking at the new models. Their appearance has changed noticeably. For example, the top tube no longer bends as sharply towards the head tube. Instead, it now runs almost completely straight. The lines appear less curved and somewhat clearer and more austere.
As before, the frames are still made from the company’s own 6011 aluminium alloy, known as Aluxx SL. It appears that the manufacturer has once again optimised the manufacturing quality. According to Giant, the frame weighs a few hundred grams less and is also stiffer than its predecessor.
In contrast, the respective frame geometries have not undergone any major changes. Many values remain completely identical or deviate only marginally from what you may already be familiar with. Due to a shorter reach, the seating position on the Anytour E+ is slightly more upright than on the Anytour X E+.
2. Giant Anytour E+ and Giant Anytour X E+ still with different profiles
The way you sit on these ebikes also gives you some indication of what they are designed for. The more upright position on the Giant Anytour E+ reflects its stronger focus on riding on tarmac. Thanks to this feature, it is also popular as an urban ebike. And in this respect, the upright seating position makes it easier to keep an eye on the traffic at all times.
Thanks to its narrower and lighter tyres with lower rolling resistance, the Anytour E+ picks up speed particularly quickly when the surface is as smooth as possible. With the right tyre pressure, it saves power from the ebike battery on such passages compared to the Anytour X E+, which increases the range.
With its wider and significantly more nobby tyres, the Giant Anytour X E+ offers significantly better traction on loose or bumpy surfaces. As a trekking ebike, Giant has designed this model more for riding on varied terrain. This can sometimes be uneven. After all, the ebike features a suspension fork with 100 millimetres of travel, which easily smooths out moderate bumps and ensures riding comfort when cycling in the forest and on more remote paths. For comparison: The Anytour E+ has a suspension fork with only 60 millimetres of travel. This dampens the shock when you ride down a kerb or a step. However, you shouldn’t ask for much more than that.

Giant takes a two-fold approach with SyncDrive Sport 3 and SyncDrive Sport 2 motors
Giant has also tailored its choice of motor to the different profiles of the duo. Every version of the Giant Anytour X E+ comes with the Giant SyncDrive Sport 3. The Giant Anytour E+, on the other hand, comes in two versions, the Giant Anytour E+ 2 and the Giant Anytour E+ 3, which use the Giant SyncDrive Sport 2. The Giant SyncDrive Sport 3 and Giant SyncDrive Sport 2 are very similar. However, the former motor generates a slightly higher torque of 85 Newton metres. This gives the motor more acceleration and responsiveness. In other words, exactly what you need to get over that last crest on the climb or to generate new momentum after overcoming an obstacle. However, to realise its full potential, you also need the necessary cadence. It should be more than 70 revolutions per minute.

3. New ebike system biggest difference to predecessors
The key advancement compared to previous models is the implementation of the latest ebike system. Giant unveiled a thoroughly revamped E+ system back in 2025. It features Smart Gateway 2.0, a new, more powerful communication unit that enables many smart functions. At the same time, the manufacturer has modernised all displays and control units. In addition, there are two features that noticeably enhance Giant ebikes: tyre pressure sensors and a radar warning system.

The ebike system on the Giant Anytour E+ and Giant Anytour X E+ is accessed via the new Giant RideControl Ergo 4 and Giant RideControl Go2 control units. The RideControl Ergo 4 is installed on the left side of the handlebars. It allows you to change riding modes, scroll through the display screens and access all other functions. If the ebike provides electronic shifting, there is a second RideControl Ergo 4 on the right side of the handlebars. This is directly linked to the shifting system. To switch the e-drive on and off, simply press the RideControl Go2 integrated into the down tube.
Safer and more energy-efficient on the road
In addition to the new display, the Giant RideDash Evo 2.0, the radar warning system and tyre pressure sensors are particularly worth mentioning. Both are produced under Giant’s own brand, Aegis. The radar integrated into the rear rack detects vehicles approaching from behind at a distance of 120 metres or more. They are displayed as small dots on the ebike display. This digital rear-view mirror is designed to ensure greater safety when riding, especially on busy roads.
The Aegis Tyre Checker, on the other hand, can be used to improve the range of the battery, for example. After all, tyres that are optimally inflated roll more easily. You can set upper and lower limits for the air pressure in the system. When switching on the ebike, the sensors check the current value. If it is outside the range, a corresponding message appears on the display.

4. Giant Anytour E+ and Giant Anytour X E+ model series with wide selection
Understandably, Giant considers features such as the radar warning system and tyre pressure sensors to be a way of defining the value of its own models. That’s why they are only standard equipment on the two more expensive versions of the Anytour E+ and Antyour X E+. However, they can be retrofitted to the cheaper models later on.
The drivetrain also serves to differentiate between the models. Both model series offer you the choice between an automatic stepless hub gear system from Enviolo and a derailleur gear system from Shimano. The latter is available with either electronic shifting or as a classic mechanical version, depending on the model.
Those who like the concept of ebikes but do not prefer a low-step frame have only one alternative. The Giant Anytour E+ 3 is also available with a diamond frame.

Depending on the equipment, the price for ebikes starts at 3,799 euros and goes up to 5,799 euros. With the Anytour E+, there are five price levels. In the case of the Anytour X E+, there are only four.
