Quality and reliability are among the characteristics that many people appreciate about Riese & Müller ebikes. The manufacturer is also focusing on these qualities in its new models for the 2026 season. However, diversity is particularly important this time around. In future, certain model series will feature a single ebike that can be equipped with motors from different manufacturers. 1. Trekking and touring ebike Riese & Müller Charger5
Alongside the Delite and Homage model series, the Charger is one of Riese & Müller’s bestsellers. It is undergoing its fifth major overhaul for the 2026 season. The new models are therefore called Riese & Müller Charger5 and Riese & Müller Charger5 Mixte. The manufacturer calls their new attraction ‘Multi Drive’. This term refers to a newly developed interface on the frame. This is compatible with both the mount for the current Bosch motors for the Smart System and the mount for Pinion’s MGU motor gear units.
In theory, this means that a good ten different motors can be fitted to the popular trekking and touring ebike. Riese & Müller ultimately opted for the following five drives for the Charger5 and Charger5 Mixte:
- Bosch Performance Line PX
- Bosch Performance Line CX
- Bosch Performance Line Speed
- Pinion MGU E1.12
- Pinion MGU E1.12 S
With the newly introduced Bosch Performance Line PX and the two motor gear units, the quintet includes three units that are making their debut on a Riese & Müller Charger. This results in a remarkable range of high-quality drives. Even when choosing a speed pedelec, you can choose between Bosch and Pinion. In the past, the selection only included the Bosch Performance Line CX and the Bosch Performance Line Speed.
The manufacturer has slightly modified the frame geometry on both the Charger5 and the Charger5 Mixte with its mid-step frame. As a result, the body length ranges covered by the respective frame sizes have shifted slightly. With its four frame sizes, the new Charger5 is suitable for people with a body length of 160 centimetres to 210 centimetres. For the Charger5 Mixte, the range is smaller due to only three frame sizes and does not extend as far upwards.
Nicely polished
From a visual point of view, it is striking that, similar to the Delite5 Homage5 model series, the Charger5 and Charger5 Mixte now also have hardly any visible weld seams, which usually reveal aluminium as the frame material used. Where the top tube and down tube merge into the head tube, they have disappeared completely. In the remaining areas they have been carefully sanded down. As the battery cover is now painted in the same colour as the frame, the overall design looks even more elegant than before.
On the new models, you can open the cover upwards. This makes it much easier to remove and insert the battery. It also keeps your hands clean, unlike before. When removing the battery downwards, the battery cover used to get dirty quickly from riding. The charging socket for the ebike system is now also easier to access. It is now located on the top tube, a few centimetres in front of the battery cover. If you mount an additional battery such as the Bosch PowerMore 250 on the cover, its charging cable can be conveniently plugged into the socket.
Lots of options for storing luggage
An ebike like this, which is designed for longer bike tours, among other things, should also be convenient for storing luggage. The first place to look is the rear rack. You can still load it with a maximum of 27 kilograms and, for example, click in a child seat compatible with the MIK HD system. New rails on the side of the rack ensure that you can also use side panniers in this configuration. The manufacturer has announced a new Klickfix system for the mounting points on the head tube. With just a few simple steps, this should open up further options for transporting luggage via front racks and smaller bags. However, the maximum load capacity is only five kilograms.
Another small bag is located on the saddle of the new Charger5 and Charger5 Mixte. It contains a lock chain, which can be combined with the standard frame lock. Riese & Müller complements the security concept with its mandatory RX chip, which digitally protects the ebike against theft and tracks your routes at the same time.
New ‘Core’ editions
Among the total of 22 different configurations of the new Riese & Müller Charger5 and Riese & Müller Charger5 Mixte for the 2026 season, two models for each frame shape with the addition ‘Core’ in their name are appearing for the first time. They represent the entry-level models in the series and are equipped exclusively with the Bosch Performance Line PX motor. Thanks to the combination of a smaller battery with a capacity of only 600 watt hours and other compromises in terms of components, their price remains below the 5,000 euros mark. This is particularly relevant for those who would like to lease such an ebike in Germany.
The remaining 18 models offer pretty much everything that ebike fans could want from an urban ebike with the potential to be a fully-fledged touring bike both on and off the road. Derailleur gears, hub gears with different gear ratios, Pinion gear and motor systems, suspension seat posts and suspension forks, tail lights with brake light function, front lights with high beam and low beam, high-quality brakes, various displays – there are many options available.

2. Sporty low step-through Riese & Müller Nevo5
The Riese & Müller Nevo5 may have a different name, but technically speaking, this low-step bike could also fit perfectly into the Charger5 and Charger5 Mixte model range. Riese & Müller has transferred numerous new features for the 2026 season from there to this ebike. These include, for example, the new Multi Drive interface for integrating Bosch and Pinion motors on the same frame, the range of batteries with capacities of 600 watt hours and 800 watt hours, and the repositioned charging socket with its practical flap.
According to the manufacturer, the angles of the head tube and seat tube have also been slightly modified. The aim of these measures was to increase stability around the head tube and in the bottom bracket area. In combination with a newly installed damping headset, you should notice this when riding, as the new Nevo5 offers controlled steering and reliable tracking at all times, even at high speeds. Other low-step bikes or ebikes with a higher weight in general can sometimes start to wobble in this situation. Riese & Müller aims to prevent this with the special headset. Normally, movement should only come from the suspension fork and the suspension seat post.
Sharpened design
However, the Riese & Müller Nevo5 retains the design language of its predecessors. The two-tone paint finish, which is now standard across all models – main frame in the main colour and seat tube in black – makes the L-shape of the main frame stand out even more. At the same time, the frame tubes have fewer edges. They appear softer and thus fit in extremely well with the now ground weld seams. The painted battery cover rounds off the look harmoniously. A new feature is the plastic protection embedded in the frame at the step-through. This prevents the paintwork from being damaged when getting on or off the ebike, for example when your shoes touch it. Also worth mentioning is the new shade of red called ‘Ruby Red’. It replaces the slightly brighter Dynamic Red Metallic and adds a touch of understated elegance to the model range.
With such a wide range of models and ebike drives on offer, you are spoilt for choice. Eleven different versions present quite a challenge. The number is so high because a Core edition will also be added to the Riese & Müller Nevo5 range for the 2026 season. This brings the prices to a range from 4,799 euros to 8,799 euros.

3. Multi-drive mount new on the Riese & Müller Delite5
Since last year, the number 5 in the name of the Riese & Müller Delite has indicated that this ebike is now in its fifth generation. A comprehensive update was therefore not necessary. The only new feature on the Riese & Müller Delite5 for the coming season is the Multi Drive interface for Bosch and Pinion motor mounts. This expands the range from two models to six.
The ebike drives integrated to date were two versions of the Pinion MGU. For 2026, the Bosch Performance Line CX and Bosch Performance Line Speed motors will be added. They form the basis for models with derailleur gears, the Enviolo continuously variable hub gear and the Rohloff Speedhub E-14 hub gear with its enormous gear range of 526 per cent.

4. Speed pedelecs for the Riese & Müller Superdelite5
Last year, we asked where the speed pedelecs for the Riese & Müller Superdelite5 were. Well, here they are. The touring ebikes for extra-long distances will be equipped with the Bosch Performance Line Speed for the 2026 season. On the new Superdelite5 rohloff HS, the manufacturer combines the drive with a Rohloff hub gear. The extremely low-maintenance Speedhub E-14 and battery capacities of up to 1,200 watt hours yield a coherent concept. This could be of interest to those who commute long distances to work by ebike and have access to well-developed roads or cycle paths specifically approved for speed pedelecs.
In addition to the familiar green shade called ‘Moss’, you will now also be able to choose the lighter shade ‘Shadow’.

5. More drives for the Riese & Müller Multicharger3 for 2026
As long as a ‘normal’ ebike. Rear rack suitable for loads of up to 65 kilograms. Approved for a system weight of 175 kilograms. This brief profile already hints at the qualities of the Riese & Müller Multicharger3. This ebike can provide valuable services in everyday family life and at the same time make a great adventure and touring bike. Whether with a classic diamond frame or as a Riese & Müller Multicharger3 Mixte with a lower top tube.
This diversity will soon be reflected even more strongly in the model’s motor concept. Riese & Müller is replacing the Bosch Performance Line CX with the latest Bosch Cargo Line and the new Bosch Performance Line PX. All speed pedelecs in the new Multicharger3 range will continue to feature the Bosch Performance Line Speed. Combined with three different hub gears and a derailleur gear system, this results in configurations that allow the high load capacity of the longtail to be exploited as a small e-cargo bike or emphasise its character as a touring ebike.
The manufacturer has created various kits from the extensive range of accessories for the Riese & Müller Multicharger3, which are tailored to the respective application. The Multicharger Family Kit, for example, includes the railing, a long seat cushion, continuous footboards and a robust double kickstand. The Multicharger Family Kit Plus adds a special cover for weather protection. In contrast, with the Multicharger Cargo Kit you get two large side bags for the rear rack, each with a volume of 33 litres, a front cargo rack and a double kickstand. Other kits support the transport of larger children and adults and off-road riding.
The front lights, all from Supernova for the 2026 season, are helpful in every application. And with ‘Desert’, a new colour is added to the range.

6. Redesigned compact e-cargo bike Riese & Müller Carrie2
Would you have guessed that the Carrie is Riese & Müller’s most popular ebike in Australia? Then it would be exciting to find out what people in Australia think of the update to the compact longjohn. In the Riese & Müller Carrie2, the Bosch Performance Line PX motor will replace the Bosch Performance Line motor in 2026. The peak power of 700 watts, 400 percent assistance and 90 Newton metres of torque should give the revised model more spritz. With a maximum permitted total weight of 200 kilograms, any increase in performance is welcome.
With the new motor, the Carrie model with a derailleur gear system will be discontinued. In the new model, the Riese & Müller Carrie2 automatic, the manufacturer has installed a stepless automatic hub gear from Enviolo. This means that all three models now feature a hub gear, with the Enviolo automatiq offering the greatest shifting comfort and the widest gear range.
Riese & Müller has changed the entrance to the Carrie2’s cargo box. Zips have been incorporated into the front corners. These open the box slightly and make it easier to get in and out – whether you’re carrying children or dogs, for example.
There is a special accessory pack called the Carrie Dog Kit, designed especially for four-legged friends. In addition to the box with foldable sides and zips, it includes a rear rack, a dog cushion and a strap to which you can clip the dog’s leash or collar. Other kits are designed for using the Riese & Müller Carrie2 as an e-cargo bike and for transporting children.
Incidentally, the salmon-coloured ‘Coral’ adds to the colour selection, which now totals four shades. Perhaps this is aimed specifically at the Australian market.

7. Increased comfort and range for the Riese & Müller Load5 60 and Load5 75
The larger longjohn from Riese & Müller, the Load, has made a noticeable step forward. Now in its fifth generation, it will also be allowed to carry the number 5 in its name in the 2026 season. The manufacturer continues to offer the Load5 as an e-cargo bike with a 60-centimetre-long cargo bed and one with a 75-centimetre-long cargo bed. To be correct, we should therefore refer to the Riese & Müller Load5 60 and the Riese & Müller Load5 75. To avoid confusion, we will simply stick with the Riese & Müller Load5.
The first new feature for the next model year is the standard dropper seat post. Getting on and off a heavily loaded e-cargo bike can be tricky. Lowering the seat post makes this safer because you can reach the ground more easily with your feet and thus provide additional support for the ebike.
Greater range and better brake control
We find the option of going for the maximum Bosch 1,600 watt hours when choosing two batteries just as useful. Riese & Müller will equip its speed pedelecs with the Bosch PowerPack 800 as standard in future. A second battery can be ordered separately. For pedelecs under the Load5 range, you can switch from a single Bosch PowerPack 725 to a DuaBattery with two Bosch PowerPack 800 batteries.
The Magura Integral Braking System (IBS) brake force distributor is also available as an upgrade option. If you have this system installed and apply the rear brake, the front brake is also activated proportionally. This distribution of braking force reduces the braking distance by up to 40 percent and proves to be a great advantage, especially in emergency braking situations.
Both in such dangerous manoeuvres and during normal riding, it also helps if the suspension system is optimally adjusted to the total load of the ebike. Don’t forget that the Riese & Müller Load5 is a full-suspension e-cargo bike. If you value optimum suspension at all times, you can also invest in a Performance Kit for the 2026 season, which includes individually adjustable air suspension elements. The new ‘Arctic’ colour is available at no extra charge.

8. Riese & Müller Multitinker2 now available in four versions
The new Riese & Müller Multitinker2 range has been expanded from three to four models. New for the 2026 season is the Riese & Müller Multitinker2 family version. Unlike the other models in the range, Riese & Müller has opted for the new Bosch Performance Line PX motor for this model. The familiar Shimano Nexus Inter-5E hub gear is used for shifting. Together with the other features, this brings the price to 5,499 euros. This is 200 euros less than the price of the previous cheapest touring model.
Riese & Müller is also offering several preconfigured kits with various accessories for the new Multitinker2. You can choose from the following options, among others:

9. Riese & Müller Swing5 remaining classic and modern at the same time
It is sometimes forgotten that Riese & Müller also offers a model like the Swing alongside all its full-suspension, high-tech trekking ebikes and various e-cargo bikes. This ebike, designed in the style of a classic Dutch bike, has the battery located on the luggage rack and rim brakes for deceleration. Both are state-of-the-art, of course.
To ensure that this can be said of the entire bike, the new Riese & Müller Swing5 will be equipped with the latest Bosch Performance Line motor for the 2026 season. In addition, the simple tail light will be replaced by one with an additional brake light function. Another new feature is Almond, now the lightest shade in the colour range, replacing the previous Crystal White. Otherwise, you still have a choice of four different versions, all of which combine a hub gear with an easy-care belt drive. One of them, the Riese & Müller Swing5 rücktritt, even features an additional coaster brake.

10. New accessories for the 2026 season
Vaude pannier bag
At Eurobike 2025 in Frankfurt am Main, Riese & Müller showcased a wide range of new accessories alongside numerous redesigned ebikes. Bags will play a greater role in this regard in future. The manufacturer announced that it will be presenting more bags exclusively for its own ebikes. To this end, it is collaborating with outdoor specialist Vaude, which has been active in this field for many years.
The first result of this collaboration is a classic pannier bag that can be attached to the side of the rear rack. In a simple black design, its waterproof fabric protects the contents from all weather conditions. With a capacity of 22 litres, the bag is one of the larger ones of its kind. To prevent smaller items from rattling around inside, it features a practical inner pocket.

Frame bag
Just as waterproof as the large pannier bag, the frame bag is ideal for storing smaller items. It screws onto the bottle cage mount and stays securely in place on your ebike at all times. A zip fastener opens and closes the bag. Narrow items such as a rolled-up T-shirt, arm warmers, leg warmers, a small towel or a few bars can be secured under the rubber loops on the left and right of the bag.

Child canopy
This canopy is not entirely new for the Load model series, of course. Riese & Müller has made minor changes to the new Load5 for the 2026 season. The most obvious change is the tinted TPU film discs. These protect all passengers from increased UV radiation in intense sunlight. At the same time, passengers no longer need to squint so hard in the sunshine because the sunlight is now dimmed.

Dog Kit
To ensure that your beloved four-legged friends are as comfortable as possible during the ride, the new Dog Kit features a padded mat.The advantage for you: It not only protects the cargo box from water and dirt, but is also easy to clean. If desired, the dog can be secured with its leash or collar using a safety belt. This prevents it from accidentally jumping out of the cargo box. A zip at the front of the box makes it easier for smaller animals in particular to get in and out. When opened, the front wall can be folded down, lowering the entry edge.
