New Velo de Ville Revo-C: Avinox Drive Integrated into Urban Ebike for the First Time

Ebikes featuring an Avinox M1 are almost always very sporty mountain bikes like the Amflow PL. Almost always. Velo de Ville offers a contrasting alternative. As early as summer 2025, the manufacturer with its comprehensive configuration concept presented a lightweight city ebike powered by the Avinox drive. Now, the new Revo-C is going on sale.

1. The Avinox motor on the Velo de Ville Revo-C and the question of its meaning

Modern, low-maintenance and smartly equipped. These are the attributes Velo de Ville uses to promote the Revo-C. But above all, it is particularly powerful. And that’s thanks to the Avinox ebike system with its powerhouse, the Avinox M1. The mid-drive motor makes this ebike the rocket among urban ebikes.

Given its massive peak power of 1,000 watts and a torque that shoots up to 120 Newton metres in boost mode for 30 seconds, the question arises as to who needs this much power on a city bike that isn’t designed to carry an additional 100 kilograms of luggage. Although, the question doesn’t really arise. No one needs that kind of propulsion for this purpose.

However, that doesn’t mean that no one wants it. Velo de Ville is probably banking on this very fact, among other things. Their motto might be: We’ve designed an ebike for city traffic whose motor would make you king of the hills on the trails, but you can also zip through rush hour traffic with it. And on top of that, the cool action brand DJI is behind it all as the creator of the ebike system.

2. Frame for fans of curved lines

Who knows, a younger target group might quickly develop a desire to be king or queen in this case. So, it’s fitting that Velo de Ville is moving away from the otherwise somewhat more conservative design of its ebikes and seeking a younger and more modern formal vocabulary for the Revo-C. In our opinion, this is only partially successful. The aluminium frame undoubtedly looks more delicate and therefore sportier than other models from the manufacturer. At the same time, the lines follow an unusual wave-like pattern, which you can see when you look at the ebike from the side. This is not quite to our taste, but as always with such details, it is clearly a matter of personal preference. At least you can choose from countless colours during configuration and maybe find your dream shade. Then the lines will quickly fade into the background.

However, you are bound to the frame shape. Velo de Ville considers the silhouette with the top tube sloping significantly towards the seat tube as a unisex frame. There are two different frame sizes. The smaller one is intended for people with a height between 155 centimetres and 180 centimetres. People measuring between 170 centimetres and 200 centimetres are better off choosing the larger size.

With its mix of a diamond frame and a mid-step frame, the Velo de Ville Revo-C aims to appeal to all genders equally.

3. Lightweight battery and special lock mount

The manufacturer has integrated the battery for the Avinox system firmly into the frame. With a capacity of 600 watt hours, the smaller of the two intube batteries was chosen. Perhaps because it weighs only 2.8 kilograms. This can be important if you don’t have a ground-level charging option and have to carry the Revo-C either up or down to charge it.

An unusual detail can be seen on the underside of the top tube. An Abus ICS has been placed there. ICS most likely stands for Integrated Clip System. Abus chain locks can be attached to the rather inconspicuous mount – without ruining the bike’s appearance with a bulky bracket. Unfortunately, the information provided by Velo de Ville does not explain exactly how this works. And we have not yet encountered this solution. Therefore, we owe you an explanation – at least for the moment. By the way, if you want this interface to be included in your model, it will cost an additional 49 euros.

The bracket is designed to allow you to attach chain locks to the top tube as inconspicuously as possible.

4. How the Velo de Ville Revo-C becomes the dream bike

You can largely decide for yourself which additional details you want to add to your personal ebike. The Velo de Ville configurator opens the door to a truly individualised favourite vehicle. There are several versions to choose from for almost every component and every part. This starts with such basic things as the gear shift. Here you can choose between a Shimano derailleur with nine, ten or eleven gears. When it comes to brakes, the options range from a more basic Shimano model with two brake pistons to the high-quality XT product line with four brake pistons.

In fact, this customisation even allows you to change the character of the Revo-C within certain limits. Velo de Ville designed the ebike as an urban model. However, you can also tailor it to be more of a trekking or touring ebike by, for example, replacing the rigid fork with a suspension fork and choosing the gravel model with a higher load capacity as your rear rack. The standard model comes with an Avinox rear rack. However, this can only carry a load of ten kilograms. This means that it is not permitted for attaching a child seat.

When riding on flat terrain in one of the lower assistance levels, the Avinox M1 is extremely well balanced and does not constantly push forward.

Even a lightweight package available

One of the most expensive options is an equipment package that brings the total weight of the Revo-C just below the 20-kilogram mark. For this, Velo de Ville uses carbon wheels and a rigid carbon fork. But in between, there are many gradations possible that take into account your requirements in terms of lighting, saddle, tyres, handlebars, stem and many other details. Not to forget the wide range of frame colours already mentioned.

The Velo de Ville Revo-C was presented at Eurobike in Frankfurt am Main in June 2025. Originally, the sales launch was announced for October 2025. Now it has been changed to February 2026. The starting price is 3,999 euros.

    1. Hello,
On its website, Velo de Ville only lists dealers within Europe. So it seems that shipping to the USA is not standard practice. Only the manufacturer itself can tell you whether this would be possible in exceptional cases. Just search the internet for Velo de Ville and bicycles.
      Cheers, Matthias
