Are you using the Bosch SmartphoneGrip smartphone holder on your ebike and have you always wanted to switch back and forth from portrait to landscape format? Here’s how to easily do it with our swivel adapter.
With the many ebike apps on your smartphone, you may want to use one in portrait format, another in landscape format, or a different format depending on the situation. If you want to use the smartphone holder, you will quickly reach your limits.
- With this little gadget, to make your SmartphoneGrip holder rotatable, you must of course first disassemble your current and existing SmartphoneGrip, including, of course, the display holder. To do this, first remove the plugs and unscrew the display holder from the holder using the appropriate hex key.
- Next, we insert the display holder into the rotating vertical adapter… carefully. Make sure that the cable outlets are also facing the right direction and secure them with the screws provided… To properly access a screw, there is a small opening in the adapter, to insert the hex key.
- Swivel adapter
- Unscrew the small screw on the support
- Turn the support upside down and unscrew the screws
- Once you have assembled the display holder and the adapter, you can now screw the assembly onto the mount of your e-bike.
- Before putting the adapter and the display holder together, we need to check in which direction your cable outlet goes and how long your cables are.
- First place the adapter on the single arm mount without screwing it in and test by turning it a little slightly to see in which direction it moves. You need a new display cable for this. Check out our shop, you will find many display cables of different lengths there.
- Connect the single arm mount and the display holder. Just use the screws that came with your display stand. Tighten everything well and reconnect the connectors at the end. Pay attention to the white mark, it must be facing down.
- Adaptateur pivotant pour SmartphoneGrip
We have now completed the assembly. You can simply put your smartphone holder back on and use it horizontally or vertically as you prefer. If necessary, you may still have to adjust the angle a little to make it perfect for you. Simply use the small adjustment screw on the right of the display holder and adjust the angle as needed. And off you go.
Bonus: how to integrate an AirTag for iPhone into this gadget
- To do this, you can simply unscrew the adapter from the single-arm holder and insert the small spacer between the adapter and the single-arm holder.
- To do this, first screw the screws that are supplied, a little longer than the others, into the single-arm holder and then place the AirTag holder on the single-arm holder.
- Now you can first screw the screws through the insert for the AirTag until they slightly protrude .
- In the compartment you can insert the AirTag or a similar GPS tracker.
- Now we take the adapter that we have just unscrewed, place it on the insert and screw it in completely. You already use the rotating vertical adapter and you still have the additional security thanks to the AirTag, which is discreetly integrated into it.
You may want to watch our video tutorial.
If this seems a bit too complicated for you and you only use your smartphone in vertical mode, then I recommend this small adapter, the assembly video of which is here. If you still have questions about the rotating adapter, ask them in the comments. All the parts you need can of course be found in our shop.

hi, can i mount thhis in my Gazelle Eclip which has a fixed mount on the steering?
Hello,
Since we don’t list Gazelle in our shop, we don’t know this exact model. The way, the display mount is installed on the handlebar seems definitely a bit special. Nevertheless, we think the adapter should fit on the display mount. Probably the display will potrude a little further from the stem. It should be worth a try.
Cheers, Matthias
