- An ebike equipped with the Bosch Smart System.
2. Required materials for installation
To install the Bosch SmartphoneGrip, you’ll need the following components and tools:

- Bosch SmartphoneGrip
- Bosch Kiox 300 display
- Display mount (two versions available: with cable outlet facing away from or towards the riding direction, identified by a small release mechanism)
From the front, both versions of the display mount look identical. The difference lies at the back, where the cable outlets are oriented differently.
- Display holder for the SmartphoneGrip
- Connection cable
- Spacer ring
- Lock for the Bosch Kiox 300
- Tools: Hex key, Torx T15 screwdriver
Note: If the Bosch Kiox 300 display is already installed, you will need to remove the lock from its mount.
3. Step-by-step installation guide
First, screw the display mount onto the display holder. Then take the spacer ring, place it over the handlebars and mount the display holder on top. This step is important to ensure that the holder is stable and secure later. The display mount must be screwed onto the display holder.
Next, position the display holder so that it is aligned centrally above the stem and in front of the handlebars.
Make sure to attach the holder loosely at first so you can adjust the angle and position later.
Now it’s time to connect the cables. Disconnect the display cable coming from the motor, which leads to the Bosch LED Remote, and connect it to the display mount of the Bosch SmartphoneGrip. It doesn’t matter whether you plug the cable into the left or right port. Ensure that the white markings on the plug and socket are perfectly aligned. Afterward, connect the additional connection cable, which must be ordered separately, to the display mount. The other end of this cable will connect to the Bosch LED Remote.

Once the cables are correctly connected, tighten the display holder on the handlebars and secure the display mount on the display holder. The next step is to attach the SmartphoneGrip. To do this, hold the Bosch SmartphoneGrip slightly tilted from the front to the display mount, then pull it backward until you feel the small locking mechanism click into place.

4. If the Bosch Kiox 300 display is already installed
If you already have a Bosch Kiox 300 installed on your ebike, the installation is even simpler. Remove the display as usual and instead attach the Bosch SmartphoneGrip to the existing mount. Click it securely into place and place your smartphone in the holder.

5. System startup and functions
Once everything is installed, you can power on the system. It will recognize both the Bosch SmartphoneGrip and your smartphone.
The LED on the left side of the SmartphoneGrip indicates the charging status. It glows steadily while the battery is charging and signals when the charging process is complete.
If you prefer to charge your smartphone using a cable, that’s possible as well. On the right side of the SmartphoneGrip, there is a matching Micro-A port.

With this guide, installing the Bosch SmartphoneGrip is effortless. This provides a practical way to use your smartphone while riding – whether for navigation, data display, or simply charging.
