Büchel Turnlite E-Bike & Bicycle Indicators

Use the Büchel Turnlite indicator system on your e-bike or bicycle and enjoy a smarter and safer riding experience in road traffic. The rechargeable bicycle indicators clearly signal your intended direction of travel, improving visibility and communication with other road users. The system consists of four indicators, with two at the front and two at the rear (left and right), providing enhanced safety when turning, especially in low-light conditions such as dusk or nighttime riding.

The Turnlite system is operated wirelessly via the ergonomic handlebar-mounted remote control. This allows you to comfortably activate and deactivate the three signalling modes without removing your hands from the handlebar. A short press on the directional button activates the turn signal for approximately 30 seconds, while pressing and holding the button for more than one second extends the signal duration to around 4 minutes, which is particularly useful when waiting at traffic lights. Pressing both directional buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds activates the hazard warning function. Whenever a turn signal is active, the corresponding arrow on the remote control flashes in sync with the indicators.

Each of the four indicators and the remote control feature their own integrated rechargeable battery and a USB-C charging port. When the battery level is low, the components can be removed individually and charged using the supplied USB-A to 5x USB-C charging cable. The multi-port charging cable allows all indicators and the remote to be charged simultaneously in approximately 3 hours.

Important safety note: When installing the indicators into their mounts, ensure that the locking tab on the rear side is engaged correctly. This prevents the indicators from accidentally coming loose while riding. In addition, all four indicator light surfaces must be mounted vertically and aligned at a 90° angle to the ground.

Battery life & battery status of the Büchel Turnlite indicators

The Büchel Turnlite indicators offer a battery life of up to 5.5 hours under continuous use. Actual runtime depends on signalling frequency and usage patterns. Battery status can be checked by pressing the button on the rear of each indicator, causing up to eight LEDs on the front to illuminate. When the battery level drops to 20% or below, the button lights up red to indicate that charging is required.

LED indicators on the Büchel Turnlite remote control

The Büchel Turnlite remote control features five LED indicators: two directional arrows, one vertical battery status indicator and two horizontal warning indicators. When a turn signal is activated, the corresponding arrow flashes green, allowing you to instantly see which signal is currently active. The vertical centre indicator displays the battery status of the remote control and remains continuously green when fully charged. The two lower warning LEDs flash red on the affected side if an indicator fails, has a low battery level or has become disconnected.

Installation & operation of the Büchel Turnlite bicycle indicators

The Büchel Turnlite indicators and remote control can be installed quickly and without any wiring. First, mount the two front indicator brackets (⌀ 22.2 mm) to the handlebar. Then slide the indicators into place and engage the locking tab. The remote control and its mount (⌀ 22.2 mm) are also attached to the handlebar.

For the rear installation, two mounting options are available: attachment to luggage rack stays or to the rear light mounting plate of a luggage rack. All required components for both installation methods are included. For rack-stay mounting, the supplied rear mounts fit diameters from 8 to 12.5 mm. For rear-light plate mounting, the supplied adapter is compatible with mounting hole spacings of 50 mm and 80 mm.
