With the T8120, the ergonomically optimised brake lever with the 3-finger brake lever forms the link between the massive 4-piston braking power from the MTB sector and the comfort for trekking bikes. The result is a perfectly tuned brake with outstanding modulation and equipped with the latest technologies.

For a tidy cockpit and optimum ergonomics, the shift lever can be mounted directly on the clamp of the brake lever using I-SPEC II .

I-SPEC II
This mounting system for shift levers offers optimum ergonomics, a tidy look and more space in the cockpit. It is mounted directly on the I-SPEC II-compatible clamp of the brake lever. The trigger can be moved 12 mm to the left or right and its angle can be adjusted by 15°.

ICE TECHNOLOGIES
Fading, which can occur in the brake disc and pad when braking continuously on long descents, impairs braking performance. SHIMANO has introduced ICE TECHNOLOGIES brake discs and ICE TECHNOLOGIES brake pads to create a cooling technology for consistently high braking performance. The brake disc with its 3-layer sandwich structure made of stainless steel, aluminium and stainless steel offers better heat dissipation. The brake pads also feature cooling fins. The design of the disc in conjunction with the cooling fins results in a longer service life of the pad, less braking noise, less fading and a lower weight.

FOUR PISTON
The disc brake system with double-diameter caliper design and counter-rotating pistons has pistons of different sizes at the front and rear. The system includes a power transmission system in which the brake disc is pressed by the smaller piston at the entrance to the brake disc mount and also by the stronger, larger piston at the rear. This prevents the brake disc from vibrating and significantly reduces noise.
The four-piston brake caliper increases the contact area with the brake disc, while its size remains compact. The position of the pads is precisely matched to stabilise the pressure. In addition, in combination with the SERVOWAVE brake lever, an incredible 50 % more braking force is achieved than with the previous model. The advanced disc brake system can be adapted to the braking habits of the rider and generates a smooth, highly controllable braking force.

ONE WAY BLEEDING was developed to quickly and easily prevent air from entering the hydraulic system. We have optimised the path of the brake fluid throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from becoming trapped in the system. The mineral oil line path in only one direction, together with the funnel for filling, enables clean, problem-free bleeding.
