The SLX groupset represents the entry into SHIMANO's upper class. These components contain the genes of the flagship XT and technologies from the high-end XTR groupset. The SLX BL-M7100/BR-M7120 disc brake therefore offers a high level of performance. Optimised for MTBs, this brake also copes perfectly with more extreme conditions.

Equipped with 4 Keramic pistons in the BR-M7120 caliper, it works in conjunction with the BL-M7100 ServoWave brake lever to generate immense braking power in any situation, regardless of the prevailing conditions - perfect for heavier eBikes!

Technologies such as IceTech, Free Stroke Adjust, Reach Adjust and I-Spec EV round off the overall package and leave nothing to be desired in terms of settings. The XT brake is an all-rounder!

SERVOWAVE Action
The SERVOWAVE brake lever takes up a lot of braking travel at the beginning of its movement, so that the pads can be guided to the brake disc with little lever travel. Once the brake pad is applied, the force transmission factor increases rapidly. The larger part of the lever travel is therefore still available to increase the braking force and to control it more precisely.

FOUR PISTON
The disc brake system with double-diameter brake caliper design and counter-rotating pistons has pistons of different sizes at the front and rear. The system includes a power transmission system in which the brake disc is pressed by the smaller piston at the entrance to the brake disc mount and also by the stronger, larger piston at the rear. This prevents the brake disc from vibrating and significantly reduces noise.
The four-piston brake caliper increases the contact area with the brake disc, while its size remains compact. The position of the pads is precisely matched to stabilise the pressure. In addition, in combination with the SERVOWAVE brake lever, an incredible 50 % more braking force is achieved than with the previous model. The advanced disc brake system can be adapted to the rider's braking habits and generates a smooth, highly controllable braking force.

I-SPEC EV
This mounting system offers the best possible accessibility and ergonomics of the gear lever as well as a tidy cockpit. It is mounted directly on the I-SPEC EV-compatible brake lever. The lateral adjustment range is 14 mm. The angle of the shifter can be adjusted by 60°. A second contact point between the brake lever and handlebar provides additional stiffness in the brake lever and thus increases the braking effect.
