The extra-stiff mono-body brake caliper of the XTR BL-M9120 disc brake is cold-forged from a single block and delivers concentrated braking power with its 4 Ice Tech ceramic pistons, which can be controlled brilliantly by the SERVO WAVE BR-M9120 brake levers with short free travel. Compared to the XTR M9000 version, this brake achieves 30% more braking power.

The 2-finger brake lever with its ergonomic and non-slip design can be adjusted in lever width without tools (Reach Adjust). With I-SPEC EV, the shift lever can be integrated into the cockpit in a space-saving and tidy manner. It also offers the option of adjusting the free travel with Free Stroke Adjust.

The optimum compromise between low weight and high performance using titanium components rounds off the overall package. The brake including brake lever and caliper weighs in at just 770g.

SERVOWAVE Action
The SERVOWAVE brake lever takes up a lot of braking travel at the start of its movement, so that the pads can be guided to the brake disc with minimal lever travel. Once the brake pad is applied, the force transmission factor increases rapidly. The larger part of the lever travel is therefore still available to increase the braking force and to provide more targeted braking.

FOUR PISTON
The disc brake system with double-diameter brake caliper design and counter-rotating pistons has pistons of different sizes at the front and rear. The system includes a force transmission system in which the brake disc is pressed by the smaller piston at the entrance to the brake disc mount and also by the stronger, larger piston at the rear. This prevents the brake disc from vibrating and significantly reduces noise.
The four-piston brake caliper increases the contact area with the brake disc, while its size remains compact. The position of the pads is precisely matched to stabilise the pressure. In addition, in combination with the SERVOWAVE brake lever, an incredible 50 % more braking force is achieved than with the previous model. The advanced disc brake system can be adapted to the rider's braking habits and generates a smooth, highly controllable braking force.

I-SPEC EV
This mounting system offers the best possible accessibility and ergonomics of the gear lever as well as a tidy cockpit. It is mounted directly on the I-SPEC EV-compatible brake lever. The lateral adjustment range is 14 mm. The angle of the shifter can be adjusted by 60°. A second contact point between the brake lever and handlebar provides additional stiffness in the brake lever and thus increases the braking effect.

REACH ADJUST
The brake lever is equipped with a grip width adjustment. This allows the grip to be adapted to the size of the rider's hand, riding style or personal preferences.

FREE STROKE
The distance from the starting position of the lever to the contact point of the brake pads can be adjusted to suit the size of the rider's hand, riding style and personal preferences.

ICE-TECH brake pistons
ICE TECHNOLOGY pistons for weight optimisation, high rigidity and heat dissipation. Oversize pistons transfer hydraulic power directly to the brake pad. A ceramic material (XTR: highly insulated plastic) is used to prevent heat transfer and ensure constant, reliable braking performance. This provides efficient brake power transmission without losses.

ONE WAY BLEEDING
"ONE WAY BLEEDING" was developed to quickly and easily prevent air from entering the hydraulic system. We have optimised the path of the brake fluid in the entire system to prevent air bubbles from becoming trapped in the system. The one-way flow of the mineral oil, together with the funnel for filling, enables clean, problem-free bleeding.
