The SHIMANO RT-EM910 brake disc is a brake disc designed for e-bikes with STEPS drive system for mounting on the rear wheel. Therefore, the magnet for the SM-DUE11 sensor is already integrated. For the front wheel, the counterpart without magnet can still be used.

This brake disc contains almost all the technology that Shimano currently has to offer. On the one hand, there is the ICE TECHNOLOGIES sandwich structure made of stainless steel layers on the outside with an aluminium core, which absorbs heat better during braking and reduces the surface temperature by up to 100°C. On the other hand, it has black-painted cooling fins in the shape of a sheet of metal - called: FREEZA. This reduces the temperature by a further 50°.

Considered as a whole, all these features result in a stable brake with constantly high performance that can be relied on in every situation and especially on long downhill rides. Fading and wear are also reduced to a minimum.

The brake disc is compatible with both organic (resin) and sintered (metal) brake pads.

Technologies

ICE TECHNOLOGIES
The brake disc consists of a three-layer sandwich structure of stainless steel on the outside around a core of aluminium. It radiates heat better and reduces the surface temperature from 400°C to 300°C, for example.

ICE TECHNOLOGIES FREEZA
Thanks to a larger surface area for heat distribution, the brake disc achieves a 50 °C temperature reduction. This in turn generates a 20% increase in braking force duration and a 20% longer brake pad life.
