The XT groupset is SHIMANO's flagship in the mountain bike sector. It combines pretty much all the technology that Shimano has to offer. The result is exceptionally high performance. The SHIMANO DEORE XT SL-M8100 Rapidfire Plus shift lever leaves nothing to be desired in terms of operability, ergonomics and adjustability. Every detail has been thought of here.

The 12-speed trigger features Multi Release, Instant Realease and 2-Way Release technologies, which enable shifting with practically any movement - regardless of the direction in which the shift lever is actuated. This means that the gear lever adapts optimally to the rider and the respective riding situation. This allows you to devote your full concentration to the trail.

The shifter is attached to the handlebar with a clamp. A longer lever housing and an anti-slip surface ensure better accessibility and safety. The further developed Vivid Index mechanism ensures a clearly defined, crisp pressure point and provides pleasant feedback of the shifting process. The operating forces have been reduced by a further 35% compared to its predecessor. The excellent workmanship and high-quality materials ensure reliability and durability on the one hand and an elegant design on the other.

Technologies

2-WAY RELEASE
The release lever for downshifting can be operated either by pressing with the thumb or by pulling with the index finger. This allows the gear lever to be optimally adapted to the respective riding situation.

MULTI RELEASE
With previous gearshift systems, gear changes in one direction were faster than in the other. The choice of top-normal or low-normal always meant that you had to sacrifice shifting speed in one direction in favour of the other.with MULTI-RELEASE, two gears can now be shifted with one lever operation. The result: the fastest possible gear change in both directions, regardless of the type of rear derailleur used.

INSTANT RELEASE
The INSTANT RELEASE shifting process replaces the two-stage click and release process. With INSTANT RELEASE, the cable is released immediately when the lever is pressed, thus achieving the fastest possible gear change. Regardless of whether you want to shift up with a top-normal rear derailleur or down with a low-normal rear derailleur - a faster shift is always a better shift.

RAPIDFIRE PLUS
The first choice of mountain bikers for fast shifting since 1985. Up to three gear steps can be shifted with one press.

OPTISLICK
OPTISLICK cables reduce friction and thus the effort required for shifting thanks to the minimalist, uniform galvanic coating. The coating also provides excellent corrosion protection.
