Anyone who mounts it on the handlebars or stem and actually uses it actively will be familiar with the fear of falling. Not necessarily the fear of falling yourself, but the fear that the phone will suddenly come loose from its mount, fall to the ground and suffer major damage. SP Connect is one of the providers who want to protect your favourite device from this with special mounts and cases. Its latest solution defies even the harshest environmental conditions.
Dust, water, mud, drops from not too great a height – all of these things leave the Xtreme from SP Connect unperturbed. This smartphone case is the perfect companion for your outdoor adventures. First of all, we think of cycling. Of course, other activities such as hiking, camping, canoeing, motorcross, running or whatever are possible as well.
Protection in a duet
Building on the SPC+ cases, Xtreme goes one better in terms of resistance than what SP Connect has offered so far. In principle, your smartphone gets a complete additional protective case. A scratch-resistant, waterproof viewing window is integrated into the upper half. It prevents the ingress of moisture and dirt in accordance with protection class IP68. At the same time, the touchscreen functionality is still guaranteed.
Apart from the small, round windows for the camera lenses, the lower half is made of a dark, impact-resistant plastic. Robust rubber plugs shield the sockets on the bottom front of the smartphone. The top and bottom of the case are so tightly sealed that they even fulfil the requirements of the US military certification MIL-STD 810. At least as far as the drop test is concerned. Even after a fall while riding your ebike, the phone should be spared scratches and bumps.
Fully functional
The concept of the Xtreme from SP Connect also includes not losing any functionality despite all the protection. This means you can charge your device wirelessly without any restrictions while it is in the case, attach it magnetically to a suitable holder as usual and use it with applications such as Apple’s Magsafe. Attachment to other mounts works just as reliably with a typical quarter-turn using the twist-to-lock mechanism. This multifunctionality ensures that switching the phone from the ebike, to the car, to your workplace and from there back to the ebike is seamless. All in a single case.
