For a continuous and proper function it is recommended to maintain or lubricate the gear hub once a year from the first use of the bicycle (alternatively every 2,000 km in case of frequent use). In addition, we recommend that you use the grease or lubrication kit developed by SHIMANO for gear hubs for maintenance work.
