Fully E-MTB

Fully E-Bike Full suspension mountain bikes, or "fullys" for short, are full-suspension MTBs that earned their place among the sportiest bikes 20 years ago. Riders have one thing in mind above all else: sporty riding dynamics combined with comfort on the terrain.

Anyone who opts for a fully electric mountain bike, i.e. a fully with an electric motor, naturally also thinks about the comfort of the electric tailwind. But last but not least, it's about getting "more" out of the trail. Fully riders often enjoy riding on easy to difficult terrain and less on paved paths. The bike's drive system offers completely new possibilities for tough enduro use and makes it possible to fully exploit the potential of a modern fully. Climbs and long tours that might not be possible without a motor can now be tackled with ease. That's why we would like to take this opportunity to remind full-suspension riders of their special responsibility towards people and nature. Be respectful wherever you ride!

Fully e-bike – what are the advantages?

Those who ride a fully are looking for maximum riding enjoyment. Regardless of whether you're riding a "conventional" Fully or a Fully E-MTB. However, if bikes with long suspension travel are equipped with a motor, you may be able to get up the mountain without a shuttle or lift, which you can then tackle with a rapid descent. The greater range on tours is, of course, also an important plus for the full-suspension e-MTB. Another advantage: conventional full-suspension bikes tend to lose some power due to the double suspension. The additional thrust easily compensates for this.

What should you look for when buying a full-suspension e-mountain bike?

Full-suspension e-bikes are generally used in difficult terrain. This often puts the sensitive technology to the test. When buying a full-suspension e-MTB, it is therefore worth making sure that the bike has special motor protection covers. These protect against mechanical (impacts, scratches, blows) and weather-related (ice, rain, snow, splashing water) influences. Fully riders should also look for high-quality and sturdy components, such as brakes and easily adjustable suspension elements, in the rest of the equipment.

How much suspension travel should a full-suspension e-bike have?

With full-suspension bikes, suspension travel is usually determined by the difficulty of the terrain, i.e. the harder the trail, the more suspension travel the bike should have. Anyone concerned about the additional weight of full-suspension e-bikes can rest assured. E-bikes are heavier, but they make up for this with their supportive drive. So suspension travel is not that important. When deciding which suspension travel to choose, there are fixed guidelines for full-suspension e-mountain bikes: If you mostly plan to ride on easy to moderately difficult terrain, especially longer tours with many straight sections, 120-140 mm of suspension travel will suffice. A full-suspension e-bike for demanding terrain should have a suspension travel of at least 150–170 mm. Adrenaline junkies who are not afraid of any descent are well advised to choose 180–200 mm.

How many inches should the wheels on a full-suspension e-bike be?

With full-suspension e-bikes, you usually have the choice between 27.5-inch or 29-inch wheels. 29-inch wheels have better rolling characteristics due to their larger circumference, which also makes them easier to ride over obstacles. On the other hand, 29-inch wheels are slightly less manoeuvrable and are therefore recommended for riding on easy to moderately difficult terrain. If the route is more demanding and winding, 27.5-inch wheels really come into their own. Depending on their intended use, they also generally offer more suspension travel than 29-inch wheels.

Is the E-Fully available as a 45 km/h S-pedelec?

If you don't want to choose between speed and off-road capability, the S-pedelec version of the Fully e-bike is your dream come true. With these powerhouses, whose drive assists up to 45 km/h, there are virtually no limits to your biking. Fully e-bikes with 45 km/h combine speed and safety. Even the fear of long distances is a thing of the past. But beware: S-pedelecs require a helmet, licence plate and driving licence.
