The XT group is SHIMANO's flagship in the mountain bike and trekking sector. It combines pretty much all the technology that Shimano has to offer. The result is extraordinarily high performance. The SHIMANO DEORE XT SL-T8000 Rapidfire Plus shift lever with gear indicator is optimised for use on trekking bikes and leaves nothing to be desired in terms of operability and ergonomics.

The 10-speed trigger features technologies such as Multi Release, Instant Realease and 2-Way Release, which make it possible to shift with practically any movement - no matter in which direction you ride the shifter. The shifter thus adapts optimally to the rider and the respective riding situation.

The shifter is attached to the handlebar by a clamp. A longer lever housing and an anti-slip surface ensure better accessibility and safety. The further developed index mechanism provides a clearly defined, crisp pressure point and gives a pleasant feedback of the shifting process. The operating forces have been reduced by 20%. The excellent workmanship and high-quality materials ensure reliability and durability on the one hand and a noble design on the other.

Technologies

2-WAY RELEASE

The release lever for downshifting can be operated either by pressing with the thumb or by pulling with the index finger. This allows the gear lever to adapt optimally to the respective riding situation.

MULTI RELEASE

With earlier shift systems, changing gears in one direction was faster than in the other. The choice of top-normal or low-normal always meant sacrificing shifting speed in one direction in favour of the other. With MULTI-RELEASE, two gears can now be shifted with one lever action. The result: the fastest possible gear change in both directions, regardless of the type of rear derailleur used.

INSTANT RELEASE

The INSTANT RELEASE shifting process replaces the two-step click and release process. With INSTANT RELEASE, the cable is released immediately when the lever is actuated, thus achieving the fastest possible gear change. Regardless of whether a gear change up is to be made with a top-normal rear derailleur or a gear change down with a low-normal rear derailleur - a faster shift is always a better shift.

RAPIDFIRE PLUS

The mountain bikers' first choice for fast shifting since 1985. Up to three gears can be shifted with one press.

Optical Gear Display

The OPTICAL GEAR DISPLAY shows the rider the gear engaged. The rider can see how many gears are left up and down and can therefore shift more consciously.

OPTISLICK

OPTISLICK cables reduce friction and thus the effort required to change gears thanks to the minimalist, uniform galvanic coating. The coating also provides excellent protection against corrosion.
